Scott Grimes
Head Coach

Scott Grimes begins his sixth season as the Neumann University Head Baseball Coach in the 2025 season.

Grimes' first and second seasons were cut short due to COVID and will begin his fourth full scheduled season in 2025.

Grimes comes to the Knights with eight years of professional playing experience, as well as over seven years of Division I coaching experience.

Grimes most recently was and assistant coach at the University of Delaware, where he was responsible for working with the Blue Hen hitters, outfielders, & catchers, while also serving as the program’s summer camp event coordinator.

Prior to arriving in Newark, Del., Grimes completed five seasons as an assistant coach at La Salle University, where he served as the team’s third base coach, and worked with outfielders, infielders & catchers.

Before his time with the Explorers, Grimes spent eight seasons playing professional baseball.  His career started in the Can-Am Independent Baseball League from 2005-2008.  In 2008, with the Worcester Tornadoes, Grimes was named Player of the Year, and League MVP.  Grimes signed with the New York Mets Organization for the season of 2009, and finished his playing career with the York Revolution, of the Atlantic Baseball League, from 2010-2012.  While in York, he won two League Championships.  In the 2010 season, Grimes won Player of the Year, and set the league runs scored record, which he still owns.

Prior to his professional career, Grimes was a four year stand out at Keystone College, setting and still owning many school records, as well as being inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2012.

Grimes, a Kennett Square native, now resides in Garnet Valley, PA with his wife Ashley and two children Alexa & Onyx.
